We firmly believe in the higher purpose of investing in education and social values. At Lighthouse Learning Foundation, we never forget where our roots are. Bosnia is our home country and every one of us understands what great difficulties many children face when one parent is missing, or when there’s a financial struggle, or when one does not simply have anyone to support him or her in whatever he or she wishes to achieve during their lifetime. Therefore, we have also made it our mission to go back and help those children that need it the most.
In light of the last statement, we further assert that education can be the greatest enabler to break the chain of struggle. We want to help expand the horizons of these students by hopefully providing them with educational resources such as school supplies and even mentors so that they can imagine bigger things, learn more, and fulfill what they rightfully deserve. It is our firm belief that every child is capable of greatness, and that with the right assistance, they can forge new paths and accomplish their goals in any way they see fit.
We are here to stand by them, not just as a charity, but as a community that cares deeply about Bosnia’s next generation. Together, we can make sure that no child is left behind.

Bedrudin Becirovic is the President and co-founder of Lighthouse Learning Foundation. Bedrudin also serves as legal counsel to Lighthouse. Coming from Bosnia and Herzegovina, he feels the connection to home and is always looking at ways to strengthen that connection. Typically, for him, that means helping those in Bosnia that need it most. He brings experience from Clothe Friends Overseas, Inc, a previous non-profit organization. He started Clothe Friends overseas with the aim of collecting new and used clothes, accessories, classroom materials, and other donations. These collections were then shipped to Bosnia and disbursed at various schools to those that need them most.
As Vice President and co-founder of the Lighthouse Learning Foundation, Alan bring years of IT experience and a deep passion for helping the youth in Bosnia, where his roots come from. Growing up with a strong connection to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Alan always felt a responsibility to give back to the community and help young people facing difficult circumstances. Through the foundation, Alan is able to combine his technical expertise with his desire to make a real difference in the lives of underprivileged students. In my free time, Alan likes to spend time with family, learn new things, and follow sports. My hope is that through our efforts, we can help these children overcome obstacles and create a brighter future for themselves.
Dzenis is a co-founder and current treasurer of Lighthouse Learning Foundation. He brings his experience as treasurer from other organizations throughout his educational career. He completed his college education in 2021, graduating from Franklin and Marshall college with a degree in chemistry. Since then he has been working as a Paramedic for Lancaster EMS, while preparing for the next step in his education. He has strong ties to the mission of the organization, with the vision developing years prior when his sister attended Behram-Begova Medresa in Tuzla. It was evident then that a solution for helping the underprivileged students was necessary, and the talks for developing such a solution began. Dzenis hopes to facilitate a simple donation process to allow the funds to go to those most in need.
Benjamin is a dedicated individual driven by a passion for creating positive change and fostering community engagement. Recognizing the power of collective action, he actively contributes to various initiatives, believing that by working together, individuals can achieve greatness. In his role as secretary, Benjamin plays a pivotal part, providing essential support behind the scenes to ensure the smooth operation of the organization. His commitment and dedication make him an invaluable asset to the community. With both a Bachelor of Science (BS) and a Master of Science (MS) degree under his belt, Benjamin brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to everything he undertakes, further enriching his contributions to the community and beyond. Outside of his community involvement, Benjamin finds enjoyment in watching basketball and Formula 1.

We supply essential school materials to ensure that every student has the tools they need to succeed in their education. By providing items like notebooks, pens, and art supplies, we aim to create a positive learning environment and support students in reaching their academic potential.
We provide financial assistance to support students from low-income backgrounds or challenging circumstances, helping them access the resources they need to stay in school and succeed. Our aim is to remove financial barriers so that every student has the opportunity to achieve their educational goals.

Providing laptops, tablets, or internet access to help students engage in digital learning, especially for those in remote or underserved areas.
We offer personalized career counseling to help students explore their interests and aspirations, along with access to internship opportunities that provide real-world experience. Our goal is to equip young individuals with the guidance and skills they need to succeed in their future careers.
